7269. Sex and Gender Discrimination

This course will provide an overview of sex discrimination and the legal doctrines relating to its practice, addressing both constitutional and statutory doctrines across a variety of subject matters. Topics to be covered include: discrimination in employment (including sexual harassment and pay equity), discrimination in education (including Title IX and single-sex education), family law (marriage, divorce, parenting and domestic violence), pregnancy discrimination, reproductive rights, pornography, and prostitution. The history of women’s legal status will be addressed as well as the evolution of legal doctrines and legal theories relating to sex discrimination.
