7271. Veterans Benefits Law and Theory

Veterans Law is a subset of federal Administrative Law. The focus of this course consists of studying applicable federal Veterans Law statutes, regulations and precedential federal court cases that form the foundation of Veterans Law, and are applied when appealing the VA denial of claims, first at the VA administrative level, then judicial appeals to the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims [CAVC], Federal Circuit and in limited circumstances the United States Supreme Court. The study of the history of Veterans Benefits and the United States Department of Veterans Affairs [VA] which administers VA benefits, is included in this course.
